Kietha Adams is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who uses Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), The Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Collaborative Language Systems (CLS) as she favored therapeutic approaches. She enjoys guiding her clients to rewrite the narratives of their lives as they discover new aspects about themselves. She believes that clients must truly understand how past experiences alter their perception and understanding of language. Kietha helps clients navigate through their lives with a greater understanding of themselves and others.
Kietha graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. She served as a teacher and helped her students to deal with educational and family development needs. She realized that to help her student, she also needed to serve and care for all the family members. This desire to work with families sparked an interest in obtaining a Master of Science in Psychology, specializing in Family, Couples, and Individual Psychotherapy from Our Lady of the Lake University-Houston. Kietha is experienced in providing therapeutic interventions in individual, couple, family, and group therapy in a variety of settings. Kietha has experience working with clients in inpatient and outpatient settings and also in private practice. She worked as a clinical therapist intern in a psychiatric hospital and gained valuable experience. Kietha has experience working with a multitude of populations, with special attention with adolescents, and adults. She has treated clients experiencing suicidal risk, behavioral disorders, substance abuse, and survivors of physical and emotional abuse.
